You hear it all the time… “Boy, this year has gone by so fast!” It’s a little sad how true it is. In my first year of being a wife, life seemed both unchanged and yet completely not what I had expected.
When I think back to this time last year, I remember thinking everything would feel the same. My husband and I would still live together and carry on as we had for the past 5 years. But this year has surprised me in good way.

I’m a true believer in “the only way to learn is by doing”, and in the case of marriage and truly understanding what it means to be a wife, I am learning by doing. We started off our journey together as Man & Wife with an unforgettable trip to The Big Island of Hawaii. I knew things had changed, something was different. I felt it then walking hand-in-hand on the beach and even now. Every day I get to look over and see someone I can call my “husband” someone I know will always be there, and who is the sweetest and most caring person in my eyes. It sounds simple, but you won’t get it until you know the feeling. I’ve heard over and over throughout my life “marriages take work” but honestly, I think marrying the right person has been the easiest job I’ve ever had. I know whatever comes our way, I’ll get through it with my best friend at my side.

So, as Ryan and I head into our second year I can only be excited for what the future holds. If this first year has been any indication, their will be many more bumps and surprises a long the way. And no Mom, that doesn’t mean babies. At least not for a while! Do some reminiscing and take a glance at my wedding post from last year.
